The Talent

THE TALENT FINE ARTS MOVEMENT

Make art, not war!

Bakelit Multi Art Center announces annually its open call The Talent for self-taught visual artists since 2007. The applications are evaluated by a professional jury, the participants receive brief and constructive feedback, and the selected works are exhibited in Bakelit. The movement offers the participants opportunity to introduce themselves on the stage of visual arts. Being part of the movement might be a beautiful and useful occasion for them to learn, get new motivations, and develop their artistic horizon.

The main desire and mission of the open call and exhibition stems from the painter Gyula Tanai Toguro, who experienced the difficulties of the world of art as a self-educated artist.

The Talent Café travelling exhibition

The first exhibition hosted by Bakelit Multi Art Center is followed by an exhibition series in different venues/galleries in Budapest, where the most outstanding works selected by the jury are presented. Our aim is to reach new audiences outside of Bakelit in order to spread the idea of the movement, and acquaint participants’ works with a wider public.

The Talent drawing and painting course

For those who want to improve their painting skills or just have fun being creative, Bakelit offers the Talent painting workshop. Attending the 12-session-long workshop, participants have the opportunity to acquire painting and drawing techniques from the renowned artist Gábor Atlasz. In our light and lofty spaces, you will be provided with everything it takes for getting creative (snacks, tea, and coffee). The paintings are displayed in our spacious gallery at Bakelit after the last course in summer.
